Are you expecting a baby in 2022? If so, you have a major task (or a few) ahead – naming your baby! Whatever you decide will stick with your child for the rest of their life. That is a pretty weighty responsibility if you ask me. When we named our son, Miller, It was so incredibly difficult to decide. Or at least, it was extremely difficult for my husband and me to decide on one that we both liked. I of course looked up baby name ideas, but we ended up going with something that we came up with on our own.
Our baby name had to meet the following requirements:
- Must make sense for a kid and an adult
- Hard to be made into a nickname
- Easy to pronounce
- Easy to spell
- Has sentimental value
Maybe after seeing that list you can see why we had a hard time coming up with a name that fit the bill. Those criteria by themselves don’t seem too complicated, but once you put them all together – they put most baby name ideas through the wringer.
Things that complicated our decision:
- Knowing people from our past with certain names
- Didn’t sound right with our last name
- Rhymed with weird things
Maybe your criteria isn’t as strenuous or maybe yours is even more particular. Either way, I hope this list is helpful to you.
