There are fewer seasons in life that are more unique than the one of having a newborn. Even if you have older children and have done the whole “newborn thing” before, everything still manages to feel brand new. I can’t think of a better time to document the love of a family than when they have just welcomed a new life into the world. As a DFW Newborn Photographer, I specialize in natural and detail driven newborn lifestyle sessions at home.
Can I let you in on a little secret? You probably won’t even believe it if I tell you….
I didn’t book a newborn lifestyle session for my first child.
I know, total blasphemy. I honestly can’t tell you why I didn’t book one. I think part of me always planned on it and then I had our son, and boom I lost all mental capacity to plan anything. Don’t let that be you! I may not be able to tell you why I didn’t book a newborn lifestyle session, but I CAN tell you that I totally regret it. Needless to say, I have already reached out to some fellow photographers to plan for our next baby that is coming this fall.
The thought of planning one more thing may feel chaotic and impossible, but I promise you it is completely worth it. When your baby is 9 months old and they are on the verge of standing and have a mouthfull of teeth, you won’t remember the stress of having to plan their newborn session. And you know what? The best part about it is that there really isn’t any stress to planning it because I will take care of everything for you. You might be wondering how I do that, well… let me fill you in.
- When you reach out I will help plan a tentative date based on baby’s arrival. Later on you will just let me know when baby arrives and we will get it on the calendar officially.
- I will ask you when your house gets the best light in certain rooms – based on your answer I will determine which areas of your home we will take photos in. AKA, you only have to make sure those areas are neat and tidy :)
- But wait, what will we wear? I will help plan outfits for the ENTIRE family – and most likely I have something in the client closet for you to borrow. I will bring it clean, steamed, and ready to go. Yep, you don’t even have to worry about purchasing clothes. I even take it home with me to launder, so one less thing in your laundry pile.
- Don’t even want to worry about hair and make-up for mom? I can even help you book a hair and make-up artist (when requested).
- Family doesn’t enjoy having their photos taken? No problem – I will prep you and the rest of your family.
