Opens camera roll. Starts to Scroll. Gets Overwhelmed. You aren’t the only one trying to figure out what to do with the photos on your phone. Anyone with kids knows how quickly 2 photos turn into 200 and then into 20,000. They multiply like rabbits. While there is nothing inherently wrong with having thousands of photos of your kids (honestly, I encourage it). The problem comes after your camera roll is maxed out.

What if I told you there was a way to get rid of that pop-up message that reads “storage is full” AND answer to the age old question of what do you do with the photos on your phone.

The solution is simple really: Family Yearbooks.

After having kids of my own I realized how much I valued the everyday snaps along with the professional photos we had done every year. I wanted to figure out a way to get those every day moments printed. However, I knew that the quality of some of the phone photos weren’t worthy of an 8×10 framed print on my wall. There is also the fact that my walls are nearly maxed out on hanging space. So, I realized I needed a more efficient, compact, and practical way to get all of those photos printed.

Enter my idea to put all of the photos in a book.

I didn’t want it to be just any photo book. I knew there were lots of options out there, like Chatbooks, but I wanted something that felt high end like an album but was durable and kid-friendly. I also wanted the ability to add A LOT of photos (we are talking about a year’s worth of photos after all). So, I did a little digging and trouble shooting and decided that I would custom design the layouts in my album software and use my professional printing lab to create the perfect solution.

Thus, the LSP Family Yearbook was born!

Obviously, I didn’t want to keep this phenomenon to myself. After some trial and error, I implemented a system that allowed clients to order one for themselves, and the only requirement from them was sending me the photos and approving my work. Seriously, if you order a Yearbook, there is very little required of you. I know there are some people out there who enjoy designing their own family photo books. But, I also know there are plenty of you out there who cringe at the thought of picking what photos to put together, how to arrange them, and how to actually make it look good. Let’s be honest, it can be a time a time suck if you don’t have an efficient way of doing it. That’s why I want to do it for you!

You have to go through all the photos.

You create a shared album and add me.

You have to ensure the photos are high enough quality to be printed

I make sure that all the photos are of print quality, and if not I will alert you.

You have to figure out how to make all the photos you have fit into a pre-determined layout.

I do all the back end organizing: putting the photos in chronological order, configuring aesthetic layouts, etc.

Flimsy paper that rips easy that don’t lay down flat when open.

Layflat, thick pages that are durable and kid proof!

Some Tips Before You Order

  • Go through your photos to delete any duplicates! There is an easy way to do this on your iPhone: “Photos” –> scroll to the bottom of the screen –> “Duplicates” –>”Select” –> “Select All” –>”Merge”
  • Add all the photos from the year that you want me to see and have access to to your shared album. This will give you an idea of how many photos to select for the pricing tier.
  • Invite any family members to the album so they can add any important photos.
  • Scroll through the shared album and “favorite” any photos that you for sure want in the book!

My inbox is always open for questions! Now, let’s get those photos printed and free up your phone space!
