Hi, friends! It’s been a while since I popped on here for anything other than sharing sessions. So, I thought it was time to do some catching up with you. Yes, I am still a DFW wedding photographer, but I am a lot more than that too, and I want to share the other parts of my life with you.

So, what else takes up my time these days?

Moose

A little someone I call Moose. My little guy hit the one-year mark this past fall, and watching him grow and learn has become my favorite pastime! He is inquisitive and adventurous, thorough and spontaneous. If you follow along with my Instagram stories, you will probably know that taking photos of him is a creative outlet for me. He is one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to my work. He challenges me to see the extraordinary in the mundane, and I am so grateful for the little reminder he is.

Books

I have always been a total book junkie. One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to go to the library with my mamaw. I would carry my library bag in, and come out with it stuffed to the brim. I think I might have held the record for the longest streak of checking out the “bird watching book with the leather cover”. Quite frankly, I might have been the only one who ever checked it out. That was okay with me. These days I have moved on from the bird-identifying books. Some of my most recent reads include How to Walk Away, The Alice Network (if you like Historial Fiction, it’s a must-read), and The Montessori Toddler (HIGHLY recommend). I purchased two of these from Thrift Books (aka my new favorite place to shop for books). I have a few coupon codes if you are interested!

Home Projects

My husband and I bought a house straight out of 1975 and have since renovated it. Some projects got put on hold, but we are finally getting to them! The latest was the built-ins for our office/playroom. My in-laws so graciously gifted that project to us for Christmas.  I am so impressed with how they turned out. You would have thought a professional woodworker installed them. I am currently trying to organize/style them, and let’s just say that I have paid The Container Store far too many visits this month.

So, as you can see, life has been busy! There is an endless amount of laundry that needs to be done, black beans stuck to my floor (thanks, moose), and a to-do list a mile long. It’s been so fun catching up with you,  and now I would love to hear what’s been going on in your life!

If you prefer just seeing squishy babies, you can just head this way.
