Your phone is full of family photos: birthdays, vacations, sleepy snuggles, and the funny little things your kids do that you never want to forget. You’d love to turn them into a family photo book. But finding the time to sort through thousands of pictures, choose your favorites, and design every page? That’s usually where the project gets put off.

That’s why I offer family photo book design.

You share your photos, and I turn them into a finished family yearbook—handling the photo selection, organization, design, and printing for you.

You still get to make the final decisions. You just don’t have to do all the work.

A family photo book for the big milestones and everyday moments

A yearly family photo book brings the story of your year together in one place. Birthdays and special trips belong in there, of course, but so do the ordinary days that make up most of your life.

One family I worked with included their kiddos’ birthdays, vacations, and my favorite: everyday moments. I personally know this family, and their kids sit down and look through these books all the time. They’re displayed in their home, easy to grab, and ready to share with friends and family.

That’s what I love about family yearbooks. Your pictures become something your family can hold, revisit, and enjoy together.

How my family photo book design service works

I spend my days looking at photos, so sorting and designing feels familiar to me. But I understand how overwhelming it can feel when you’re looking at an entire year’s worth of pictures—or several years you’ve been meaning to catch up on.

My goal is to make your part simple.

1. You share your family photos

After you fill out the inquiry form, I’ll reach out, and we’ll coordinate the best way to get your photos to me.

For many families with iPhones, we use a shared Apple album. You can invite your spouse, grandparents, or other family members to contribute, too. It’s a helpful way to gather pictures of moments you may not have captured yourself.

You can include phone photos, professional family portraits, vacation pictures, and the everyday snapshots you love. Let me know which pictures are must-haves so I can keep those in mind as I design.

I’ll walk you through what you need to do. You don’t need to have every photo perfectly organized before we begin.

At this stage, I’ll also send your invoice. An initial payment secures your project and covers the design work, with the remaining balance due before your book goes to print.

2. I organize your photos and design the book

Once you’ve shared your photos and made the initial payment, you can hand the project over to me.

I prepare the files for print, including standardizing their color profiles, and bring them into my album design software. Then I organize the photos chronologically and check the order myself.

Photo dates help with sorting, but I also look through everything to make sure the story makes sense. If I have a question about when something happened or where a picture belongs, I’ll reach out.

Unless you’ve requested a different approach, I build your family yearbook in chronological order, keeping events together and letting the pages follow your family through the year.

3. You review the design

When the design is ready, I’ll send a link to your online proof. You can open it on your phone or computer and look through every spread, including the front and back covers.

You can leave comments directly on the design, and the pictures are numbered so it’s easy to tell me exactly what you’d like changed.

You might say, “Can we swap photo 3 with photo 6?” or “I’d love to add another picture from this birthday.”

I’ll make the changes and send the updated design back for review. Nothing goes to print until you approve it.

4. Your finished family photo book comes home

After you approve the design and complete the remaining payment, I send your book to print.

The finished book comes to me first so I can check that everything looks as it should. If there’s a printing issue, I’ll work with the printer to get it corrected.

Then I package it up and ship it to you, ready for your family to enjoy.

You don’t have to choose between every similar photo

One of the biggest reasons people put off making a family photo book is the photo selection.

Maybe you have two almost identical pictures: one of your kiddo smiling and another of them making a silly face. You love both. How are you supposed to choose?

Multiply that decision by a year’s worth of photos, and it becomes a lot.

This is one of the ways I can help. I look at how the pictures work together, what each one adds to the story, and which image fits the page best.

Sometimes the smiling picture is the right choice. Sometimes the silly face is the one that feels most like your kid.

I make those decisions as I build the design, and you can request changes when you review it. You don’t have to make every choice before I can get started.

Thoughtful layouts and photos prepared for print

Creating a family photo book involves more than filling pages with pictures.

As a photographer, I pay attention to how each spread feels: which photos deserve more space, which work well together, and how the layout carries you from one moment to the next.

Some pages may focus on one favorite image. Others may bring together several pictures that tell the story of a trip, a birthday, or an afternoon at home.

I also check for photos that may be too small or low in resolution to print well. If one is especially meaningful to you, we can talk through the options. Sometimes using it at a smaller size makes sense; other times, you may prefer a different picture.

You don’t have to figure those details out on your own.

I really do create the photo book for you.

If you’ve been meaning to make a family photo album but keep getting stuck on sorting, selecting, or designing, I can take care of those steps for you.

Your part is to share your photos, tell me what matters most, and review the design. I handle the work of turning those pictures into a book.

And if you have a backlog, we can start with one year. You don’t have to tackle your entire family photo collection at once.

Let’s turn your family photos into a book you’ll actually enjoy

You’ve already taken the pictures. Let me help you give them a place in your home.

A family yearbook gives you a way to sit down with your kids, turn the pages, and remember the birthdays, trips, silly faces, and ordinary days that made up your year.
